New Acer Spin 7 is the world’s first laptop powered by the recently launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 5G chip.
Acer has announced an all-new Spin 7 5G convertible notebook powered by the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 5G chipset at the IFA event in Berlin. The Spin 7 5G laptop is just 1.4 kg light and 15.9 mm thin. The 5G notebook offers a 360-degree hinge that allows users to choose a form factor that is comfortable with the task at hand.

According to the company, the new Spin 7 comes with multi-day battery life, ultra-fast 5G connectivity, and has superior performance, along with an AI acceleration and enhanced audio features. The Acer Spin 7 features a 14-inch full HD IPS display, 100 percent of the sRGB gamut, and a touch screen is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass.
The Spin 7 also has an in-house Acer Active Stylus, a rechargeable stylus with 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity that employs Wacom AES 1.0 technology to offer users authentic sketching and note-taking experience on the device’s touch-screen. It has a magnesium-aluminum alloy body in a polished-looking steam blue-chassis offset by gold accents.
The 5G connectivity of the Spin 7 is for both mmWave and sub-6 GHz frequencies with the download speed up to 7.5 Gbps. The notebook can also be connected securely over the cellular 4G / LTE and 5G networks without depending on any unsecured public Wi-Fi.
Although the company has not revealed the pricing, the price of Acer Spin 7 5G convertible laptop is expected to hover around $1200 and will vary by region. It is expected to be available in the next few weeks both on e-comm sites and offline retail shops.
