Indian users are getting the latest OxygenOS update for the OnePlus 6 and 6T. OxygenOS version 10.3.4 is a stable update from the company which fixes many bugs and adds new features. The update also brings the new OnePlus launcher v4.1.6 as well.
As per the changelogs posted on the OnePlus forums, the update fixes a bug when dialling using Sim 2 while on roaming. OnePlus 6 and 6T also gets Work-Life-Balance feature which keeps work and life as separate modes. Gamers will rejoice the addition of Epic Games in Games Space for the devices as well.
The latest OTA will be rolled out over the next few days. Users can manually check for the updates by heading over to Settings > About Phone > System updates. If you the tinkerer in you want to try the update early, then you can scavenge google for the ROM and updated through the ROM manager.
The OxygenOS version 10.3.3 released in April had new security updates and some other improvements. The update also fixed an issue of blacking out when playing games.
In February this year, the GMS also saw an update. In India, owners of the OnePlus 6 and 6T were introduced ton Cloudservice 2.0. The update also brought stability to the system and for Reliance Jio users, a much-needed voice over Wi-Fi was also added.
Android 10 beta was also made available to OnePlus 5 and 5T users hinting that the final release version will be out soon.
For any ageing device, regular updates are a must. Google promises of Android updates for 2 years and security patch updates for the next 6 months. OnePlus has been doing a great job of updating their devices. OnePlus 6 and 6T are two-year-old device and the rollout of updates back to back is quite promising for the company.
